Celebrity Silhouette is the fourth of five cruise ships in the Solstice-class operated by Celebrity Cruises. Constructed with an investment of $750m, the ship was launched in July 2011.

The vessel was constructed at Meyer Werft’s shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. Its first steel was cut in March 2010.

On its maiden voyage, the vessel set sail from Hamburg, Germany, to Rome, Italy.

Celebrity Silhouette design

The vessel carries the same design as that of its three sister ships, the Celebrity Solstice, the Celebrity Equinox and the Celebrity Eclipse.

Sweeping verandas are provided in 85% of the staterooms. The vessel has 17 cabins more than the previously-launched Solstice-class vessels.

Gangways are made wide enough so that wheelchairs and scooters can be accommodated comfortably, and the tendering platform features an accessible route.

The ship contains three main types of staterooms: the Penthouse Suite has a 1,291ft² stateroom and a 389ft² veranda; the Royal Suite has a 590ft² stateroom and a 158ft² veranda; and the Celebrity Suite has 394ft² stateroom and a 105ft² veranda.

The gross registered tonnage of the vessel is 122,400t. The length is 319.12m, beam is 36.88m and draught is 8.22m. The vessel accommodates 2,886 passengers.
