ECDIS-E is fully compliant with current type approval standards IEC 61174, IEC 60945 and IEC 62288. When installed in twin configuration, the system allows paperless navigation, releasing the owner from maintaining paper charts updates.

Our highly reliable, flexible navigation solution provides improvements in performance to enhance ships’ safety at sea.

Radar detection of small vessels and targets

The VisionMaster FT Radar series from Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine provides innovative marine tools and support for safe navigation and collision avoidance under all maritime conditions. The VisionMaster FT series delivers the industry’s most advanced automatic clutter suppression, making it easier for operators to identify small targets in sea or rain clutter conditions.

The automatic radar plotting (ARPA radar) series fully meets the latest radar performance standards of International Maritime Organization (IMO) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). All our products are designed to meet the demands of today’s maritime industry.

Weather-resistant radar scanners

Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine delivers several sizes of radar scanners, including X-Band and S-Band antenna and high-speed turning units. Our series of S-Band radar scanner antennas are the best solution in extreme weather conditions and are provided with both 9ft and 12ft antennas. The X-Band radar scanner incorporates the design for coastal surveillance and is provided in either a 4ft, 6ft or 8ft antenna.

Reliable gyrocompass for all environmental conditions and short power failures

In order to meet modern demands on navigation and ship control technology, Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine has developed the NAVIGAT X MK 1. It is an advanced low-weight, digital marine gyroscope system that can be installed on any bridge on any vessel. The unique method of supporting the system by means of mere buoyancy, ensures north stabilisation during short power failures.

The gyrocompass ensures great accuracy and maximum reliability under all environmental conditions. Operational safety of the gyro compass uses a patented data transmission technology instead of slip rings. Providing proven technology, the gyrocompass is a long-time, secure investment with low operation costs and long periods without requiring maintenance.

Marine spare parts and services

Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine’s global service network provides prompt shipboard maintenance and repair services in every major seaport in the world, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, minimising equipment downtime and in-port turnaround times.
