AEGIR-Marine is an expert in the field of shaft seals and bearings services. In August 2000, Ruud Muis and Hans Dekker set out to start a stern tube seal specialist company for the maritime industry. AEGIR-Marine was the product of this ambition and has now been running for ten years, bringing service back to life with the launch of Prime Seal.
In these ten short years AEGIR-Marine has developed into a mid-size organisation with global facilities in the Netherlands, Shanghai and Singapore.
Stern tube seals
AEGIR started as a service company for stern tube seals, a business which is still at the heart of the organisation. We recognised the need for high-quality products and started producing Prime Seal, an independently tested and class approved stern tube seal, which we have supplied for many years now.
With ten years of experience, it goes without saying that Prime Seal offers excellent European quality and availability. Every single seal and spare part is checked, rechecked and checked again by hand. Our Prime Seal products are available ex- stock, meaning we can guarantee availability of seals, spares and our engineers at very short notice.
Make-independent stern seals
AEGIR is a make-independent service provider, specialised in stern seals. We offer high-quality service, for any type and make of stern seal, from our offices in the Netherlands, Singapore and Shanghai. Together with our partner, Hydrex, we also offer underwater stern seal repair. Through the internet, customers have permanent access to service reports and ships details.
Underwater stern tube seal repairs
Our combination of high-quality equipment and service has proven to be very successful. In 2006, we extended our service, working together with Hydrex from Antwerp. This co-operation means AEGIR can offer maker-independent underwater seal repairs.
As one of the leading companies in the world, Hydrex have obtained full class recognition for their successful underwater stern tube seal repair. AEGIR also offers conventional seal repair, in-dock or afloat, approved by classification.
Stern seal spare parts
AEGIR has created an alternative source for stern seals spares. We can offer almost any part for well-known makers, often from stock. Spares including liners, seal rings, spacers and consumables. Housing parts can be made on request.
For retrofits, AEGIR offers oil lubricated Prime Seal as a reliable and economical solution. Open water lubricated stern seals are offered, in co-operation with our partners, Kobelco-Eagle.
AEGIR-Marine Propulsion Service
AEGIR is also proud of its sister company, AEGIR-Marine Propulsion Service ( AMPS), which was established in January 2009. AMPS focuses entirely on the inspection, maintenance and repair of CPP and bow thrusters, and repair and modification of FPP propellers and CPP blades.
Although AEGIR has experienced many developments and growth within a relatively short period, one thing has not changed: our approach and focus towards our customer. AEGIR will continue to meet and exceed their expectations with clear service, flexibility and know-how.
